11LIFT Open-Loop Elevator Inverter

The IDEEI open-loop elevator inverter uses sensorless vector control (SVC) for asynchronous elevator motors without encoder feedback. The 2.2kW to 15kW, three-phase 380-440V range combines practical commissioning with elevator-specific brake, contactor, overspeed and speed-deviation functions.

Application boundary: open-loop SVC does not use encoder feedback. Choose the closed-loop configuration when the project uses a PMSM, requires direct feedback, or needs the highest low-speed precision.

Applications and Selection Information

Suitable for asynchronous-motor passenger elevators, freight elevators, service lifts and modernization projects where encoder-free control is appropriate. Provide the motor nameplate, rated current, rated speed, elevator load, travel speed, braking resistor requirement, power supply, quantity and destination before selection.

Installation conditions: rated operation is below 1,000m altitude and from -10°C to 40°C. Derate 1% for every additional 100m above 1,000m and derate above 40°C; the stated maximum ambient temperature is 50°C.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does open-loop SVC need an encoder?
No. SVC operates without encoder feedback, reducing feedback wiring and PG-card requirements.
Can the open-loop version control a PMSM?
The manual states that synchronous-motor operation requires encoder feedback. Select the closed-loop configuration for PMSM applications.
How does it differ from the closed-loop version?
SVC provides 180% torque at 0.5Hz, a 1:100 speed range and ±0.5% speed stability. FVC uses encoder feedback for 200% torque at 0Hz, 1:1000 range and ±0.05% stability.
Is an external braking resistor required?
